Sea World has been an anchor for the Orlando tourist market for many years. Despite the controversy around the theme park in recent years, it continues to hook in visitors from around the world. Between SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove and Aquatica, about 3.9 million visitors in 2017 visit the parks. Being able to see some of great sea creatures up close can be a memorable experience for children of all ages. Just be sure not to sit too close to the water or you might get splashed. After watching the seals being fed, you are sure to build up an appetite. Thankfully you can sail right to one of several Halal restaurants in the area.

In this list, we outline 5 Halal dining spots to visit after a great day enjoying the rides and shows at Sea World Orlando. If you’re looking for a specific meal option, be sure to check out our TOP 5 lists for specific options on our blog, like Burgers for example.

1. Zaman Cuisine

recently opened in 2019, Zaman Cuisine is a family owned restaurant that offers Middle-Eastern Cuisine with a unique twist. The restaurant décor is very contemporary and creates a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for friends and family to enjoy. The food is absolutely excellent and should be on our list of TOP 5 Halal Mediterranean Restaurants in Orlando the next time we update it. For large parties of 4-6 you may want to ask for the combo platter. It’s a sampler platter of all the grill meats in hefty portions. Another favorite is the hummus which has a deep rich flavor. The restaurant is not visible from the main road (I-Drive) as it is tucked away on the side of a strip plaza. For reference the Sushiology and Zaman Hookah Lounge can be used as a landmark. It does shown up on a Google Maps search so you can use your GPS to guide you if you are not familiar with the area. This spot focuses on a quality dining experience so there is a premium to pay, but it is definitely worth a visit. However, if you are looking for great value, check out our TOP 5 List of Halal spots to visit on a budget.

Emad, the Owner/Chef of Zaman Cuisine put together this combo grilled platter. It was amazing.

2. Melt’d Subs

Opened in 2017, Melt’d Subs has adopted the Subway Sandwich business model. You can create your sandwich with all the toppings just the way you want and it is made fresh to order in real time. In addition to the traditional proteins of chicken and beef, they also offer Halal processed deli meats like roast beef (which is not that common in the area). Given the fresh ingredients and healthier grilled options they make our TOP 5 List of Healthy Eats in Orlando. Located in a large shopping plaza, it’s not too far from Interstate-528. As a landmark it is near the 7-11 Gas Station at the southern end of the plaza. Its proximity to Sea World makes it a prime location for Park-goers looking for a quick bite to eat after a long day in the heat. Be sure to check their hours as they traditionally cater to the lunch crowd.

3. Sizler

This Halal Indian restaurant has changed hands several times over the years and is under new management. It has been a staple for good Halal Indian food on International Drive for the better part of a decade. While there are other Halal Indian spots, this is the only one that is alcohol free. Because of its convenient location for visitors to the area, there is a premium to pay when reviewing the menu. They have updated  the interior décor to give it a more modern look. One drawback is the limited parking in front. There are other parking lots in the area within walking distance. If it’s Indian food you need and don’t want to drive far, then this spot is a viable option. Their grill menu is consistently good and provides a spicy kick to the day.

4. Halal Food Express

Conveniently located in the heart of I-Drive, this fast-food location serves up hot pizzas made to order. They are known for their specialty pizzas like Chicken Kabob Pizza and Gyro Pizza and made the list for TOP 5 Halal Pizza Spots in Orlando. They also offer many other American fast-food items like burgers and wings as well as some Middle-Eastern choices like falafels and gyro. The décor of the restaurant clearly reflects their Islam roots with Quranic calligraphy on the walls and a large painted mural of the 3 holy sites of Islam for you to enjoy as your meal is prepared. The food is priced a little higher than competitors, but you are paying for the convenience of the location.

5. Charcoal Zyka

Located off Interstate 528, Charcoal Zyka  is very accessible to locals and visitors alike, especially those visiting SeaWorld. The menu has a split between classic Indian dishes and a grilled barbeque section. The barbeque menu has been a big draw for many locals in the area. They grill up their own burgers and ribs. They are very famous for their Portuguese (Rotisserie) Chicken. They have been in business for several years and their service and food quality are consistent, making them a solid choice to visit in the Orlando Halal restaurant market. They were the only Halal spot to participate in Orlando’s first Burger Week, which was amazing to see and will be participating in 2020 too.
