With the Corona virus (COVID-19) causing a worldwide pandemic, I pray that you, your family and community are safe. Health is one of the greatest blessings we take for granted.

Allah has mentioned in the Qur’an that He will test us with fear, loss of health, wealth, loved ones (2:155) . But in the same Ayaat, He has also given us hope in being patient. Thankfully, there are community leaders, like Maulana Rizvi in Toronto, taking proactive steps to help educate the community and manage the fear and uncertainty that comes with troubling times like this.

In addition to the health tolls this virus has taken on our community, it has also impacted the local economy at an unprecedented level. Orlando is a tourism hub and with flight cancellations, convention cancellations and major theme park closures, many employees and small business owners are feeling the pinch. Beyond that, Federal, State and Local Governments are enforcing social distancing measures to slow the spread of the virus which are further impacting the economy. Amongst the many suffering economic hardships are Halal restaurants in the area. They have had to adapt their business models to accommodate the Florida Governor’s orders. First we pray for their health and safety, but also that they will have the resolve to face these additional economic challenges.

At Halal Food Guru we are trying to do our part to help small business Halal restaurant owners and connect them with the community to help mitigate the damages in whatever small way we can. In this post we hope to provide you with up to date information about which Orlando Halal restaurants are open and which have temporarily closed down. In the tables below you will also find how they are offering their services through takeout/curbside pickup and delivery options. Of course it is a fluid situation and things will change so we have also included the phone numbers of each restaurant so you can call to get the latest information. This list is up to date as of March 21st 2020.

Further updates will be made, so be sure to subscribe to our email list (down below) and follow us on our social media pages including Twitter and Instagram. Also, you may have noticed the updated website, so take some time (hopefully you have more time since everyone is at home) to explore the new features including an interactive map that shows all the Halal spots I’ve reviewed over the years. Of course, praying for your safety and health and that we come out of this a stronger, united community.

If you see any omissions or changes, please let us know in the comment section below so we can update it. Best to call the restaurant directly for hours of operation as they constantly changing. We did our best trying to make contact with as many Halal restaurants as possible. Special Thanks to Mrs Halal Food Guru for making all the calls.
